            Today, we had a look at some videos that are related to culture. The first movie we watched was about how to behave at sushi shop in Japan. At first I thought it was serious movie and made for people from other countries. Nonetheless, as I keep watching the movie, I realized that it was made for fun and most of the facts in the movie were not true. Rab told us that when he showed this movie to Japanese students, they laughed. However when he showed this movie to people who are not familiar with Japanese culture, they could not get the jokes.  I understand those who believe the movie, because the way of explaining the manners in sushi shop was very realistic. If I watched this movie not knowing much about Japanese culture, I would be the one who took the movie seriously and believe everything. We also watched some other comedy clips, but I could not get some of the jokes. There is a change in Japanese comedy. Japanese comedy was used to challenge something painful and stupid, but we do not see this kind of comedy shows a lot these days. Some of the group discussion members said that this is because of some accidents caused by imitating those TV shows. Many young people and children are very curious and they tend to imitate those dangerous but funny things. However, this kind of performance is popular in Western cultures. The points we laugh vary when each of us have different background and experiences.a
